Annual Dues – Annual HOA fees are $480 and are due January 1 of the calendar year. For example, 2026 HOA fees are due January 1, 2026. There is a $50 late fee per month late.
Annual Meeting – The HOA holds an annual meeting once per year, usually in November, with all homeowners to present the HOA financials and budget, and to have an open discussion for anything and everything relevant to homeowners questions and concerns.
Common Areas – Our common areas are maintained for the benefit of all of our homeowners. Please respect our signs, especially for the following items.
- All motorized vehicles including mopeds, scooters, motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles, etc. are prohibited in all Sycamore Run common areas and walking paths
- Fishing is catch and release only
Facebook Group – The HOA has created a Facebook group called Sycamore Run – Indianapolis that is meant to be a place for the HOA to quickly communicate pertinent information to our homeowners regarding things like potholes and snow removal as well as a place to communicate and ask questions that impact the entire neighborhood. Another local Facebook group that we recommend is Franklin Township Chat, which has over 13K members and is a great place to ask questions or for recommendations on anything local like restaurants, car/home repair, doctors, or child care.
Fences – Per the covenants, the HOA has established a design standard for fences that is wooden and the style must be either shadow-box or board & batten. If your property backs up to a pond, then you are limited to a 4ft fence height. In addition, homeowners must submit an ARC form for all fence installs. If you are interested in using fencing materials or styles not currently listed in our guidelines, please reach out to the Board or submit a completed ARC form with your specific proposal; we are always open to considering new ideas that maintain the harmony of our neighborhood.
Fiber Internet – We know many of you are looking forward to faster speeds! While Metronet and Comcast have recently installed fiber lines along Southport Rd. and Arlington Ave., they have not yet filed the necessary permits to extend that service into our specific neighborhood streets. We are monitoring local permit filings and will share updates as soon as “dig day” approaches.
Garage Sale – Sycamore Run HOA coordinates an annual neighborhood garage sale, usually in conjunction with Misty Woods and Red Fox. The dates are generally announced in our spring newsletter as well as posted on our web site and on our Facebook group page.
Mailboxes – Per our covenants, all mailboxes and mailbox posts shall be “uniform in nature”. Mailbox Standards for the neighborhood can be found here: Sycamore Run Mailbox and Post Standards. If your mailbox and/or post needs to be replaced, please contact Otto’s Streetscape Solutions, our official mailbox provider. Their phone number is (317) 886-4400. Simply tell them that you live in Sycamore Run in Indianapolis and they’ll be able to provide current pricing for our standard mailbox and posts. You can elect to have them install or you can arrange to pick them up and install them yourself, whichever you prefer.
Overnight Street Parking – To keep our streets safe and accessible for emergency vehicles—and to maintain the aesthetic of our community—overnight on-street parking is not permitted. We understand this has been a frequent topic of conversation, but the current policy remains in effect. We ask that all residents and guests utilize driveways and garages for overnight parking.
Potholes – You can report potholes through RequestIndy. RequestIndy also has mobile apps for Apple and Android devices.
Recycling – You can subscribe to curbside recycling by calling Republic Services at 317-917-7300 to sign up. Please note, there is a charge for this service.
Schools – The following schools are in the vicinity of Sycamore Run. If you don’t see your school listed, please contact the HOA Board and we’ll add it.
- Franklin Township Community Schools
- Lutheran High School (Lutheran)
- Roncalli High School (Catholic)
- St. Jude (Catholic K-8)
Sheds & Outbuildings – The topic of storage sheds is a frequent point of discussion. Currently, our community guidelines do not permit sheds or detached outbuildings. However, these rules are living documents! This has been put to a vote in the past, and it can be again. If you feel strongly about allowing sheds, please reach out to the Board to voice your interest. If there is enough community support, we will organize a new neighborhood-wide vote.
Street Lights – If you notice an issue with a street light, make a note of the 6-digit pole # and the nearest house number. Then you can either call AES Indiana at 317-261-8111 or submit a request online at https://www.aesindiana.com/report-streetlight-problem.
